Each January, Unity invites us to join in a burning bowl ceremony as an alternative to setting resolutions for the new year. The goal of the burning bowl ritual is to make space for new beginnings. Some use this ritual to set their New Year’s resolutions, or as a way to begin forming a new habit. Some use it as an opportunity to contemplate life’s deeper meaning and discover what stands in the way of living that deeper meaning. Some want to offer to the cleansing fire whatever darkness they perceive in their lives or in the world. The Burning Bowl Ceremony is a powerful ritual that just might be a great turning point in your life.
